Montserrations voted to elect veteran former Chief Minister and Premier Reuben Meade and his United Alliance into office in General Elections on 24 October 2024.
Meade who came out of political retirement in January this year, after an eight year hiatus, and formed the United Alliance, won five of the nine seats at stake.
The outgoing Movement for Change and Prosperity retained just one seat. Outgoing Premier Joseph Farrell who had given up leadership of the Party prior to the election, and his successor as party leader Dr Samuel Joseph, both failed to win a seat.
The Peoples Democratic Movement led by the outgoing opposition leader Paul Lewis won three seats.
The election results means that Montserrat has continued the trend of one-term government for the last three decades.
